New Novel by Eric Puchner '82 Selected as Oprah's Book of the Month
Dream State, the latest novel by author Eric Puchner '82, is all the buzz in the literary world! This heartfelt story takes readers on a journey to explore the moments when we make decisions that set the course of our lives, and the feelings or "what ifs" that may come as a result. The story is so captivating that Oprah Winfrey selected Dream State as her February book club pick!

Eric's first book, Model Home, was a Calvert alumni book club selection in 2023. The group had the pleasure of meeting with Eric to learn about his writing process, from idea generation and planning to character development and editing.
In addition to his work as a writer, Eric is an Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins University where he also serves as Department Chair of The Writing Seminars.
