The Class of 2023 gathered for High School Night on October 6. This annual event brings representatives from dozens of day and boarding schools to Calvert to meet the Eighth Grade students and share information about their schools. Close to 50 alumni returned to campus to represent their high schools and visit with Calvert friends and teachers. While on campus, many alumni toured the new Luetkemeyer Athletic Center for the first time. This event is an important step in the high school search process as it provides Eighth Grade students with opportunities to learn more about the individual schools and hear directly from alumni who recently made their own high school decisions.
Two alumni attended in their roles as admission representatives. Annie Smallwood Morse ‘89 is the Executive Director of Enrollment Management at The St. Paul’s Schools. Napoleon Sykes ‘96 is the Assistant Director of Admission, Diversity Coordinator, and Head Football Coach at Lawrenceville School.
Another familiar face on campus for High School Night was former Lower School Head Dr. Ed Trusty. He is currently the Head of School at St. Paul’s School for Boys. A special moment came when an Eighth Grade parent shared a photo of her son shaking Dr. Trusty’s hand on the first day of Fifth Age. It was a full-circle moment, indeed!
