This month, Calvert Eighth Graders led a Thanksgiving Meal Drive in partnership with Paul's Place and the Baltimore Hunger Project — and thanks to the support of our community, they were able to assemble more than 60 meal baskets for local families.
From November 4 to November 15, families across both divisions contributed non-perishable goods including canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, cornbread mix, and stuffing to help fight food insecurity in Baltimore. Once the drive concluded, Calvert's Eighth Grade Community Action Captains organized the items and distributed at least one of each among the 60+ baskets.
On Monday, November 25, the Eighth Graders loaded up a yellow school bus and delivered many of the baskets to Paul's Place, where they also served lunch, cleaned the cafeteria, and organized the clothing bank ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Thank you to our Eighth Graders and all who contributed!
