Families Celebrate Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day

Grandparents and Special Friends from near and far visited campus on November 22 to spend time with their Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Tenth Age students, and to get a sample of the wonderful activities and lessons our students are involved in during their days at Calvert.
Our Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day began with the Tenth Age Play, where our Tenth Agers acted out a series of classic American folk stories. After the performance, grandparents and family members were able to join the cast for a reception in the cafeteria.
Our Eighth Agers hosted their grandparents and special friends in their classrooms for some Thanksgiving-themed activities, and then came together in the Auditorium for a large group sing-a-long.
The Fifth and Sixth Agers closed out our activities for the day with a Thanksgiving celebration in the Lower School Gymnasium. Students performed Thanksgiving songs and shared Thanksgiving poems. Afterwards, the students were very excited to bring their grandparents and special friends to their classrooms.
All of our Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Tenth Agers were thrilled to show their grandparents, special friends, and other family members their classrooms, lockers, and artwork from the year before heading home for Thanksgiving Break.
