Reuel "Ru" Belt '96

Reuel Belt was raised with his grandparents' love of music and appreciation of Shakespeare. At Calvert, he found an outlet for these interests and flourished as an artist, musician, and thespian. In drama class and on our stage, Reuel found his voice, performing in West Side Story and his class plays. Creative writing coupled with Classic literature sparked his creative spirit and inspired his career as a storyteller. The first lessons he learned from his grandparents were engrained at Calvert. Reuel has carried these lessons beyond Calvert, onto the stage, into his art, and throughout his stories. But looking back, he remembers where it began: afternoons spent in the Calvert art room or nestled in the library with a book.
