Faculty, staff, and administrators visited the Baltimore Museum of Art on November 17 to view a moving exhibit called “A Movement in Every Direction: Legacies of the Great Migration.” The exhibit explores the ways in which The Great Migration continues to impact our society today. It includes newly commissioned multi-media works by twelve acclaimed Black artists. The collection’s emphasis on Movement provides a diverse perspective about the legacies of the Great Migration.
As part of the exhibit's opening, the BMA hosted a lecture by Pulitzer Prize winning writer Isabel Wilkerson. Calvert employees previously read and discussed Wilkerson’s best-selling book The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration in 2019 as part of the School's ongoing professional development program.
The BMA exhibit will run through January 29, 2023. To learn more or purchase tickets, please click here.
