Middle School Math Teacher
Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, has an opening for a full-time Math Teacher for its Middle School for the 2025-26 school year. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland. The campus is easily accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
The Math Teacher will teach seventh and eighth grade students. Students at Calvert are placed in developmentally appropriate groups. Students in Algebra I will master the solutions of more complex equations and the graphing of polynomial functions will be introduced. Students are exposed to Geometry and they use technology and real-world problem scenarios to explore mathematical concepts. In addition to teaching, faculty members at Calvert are expected to serve as academic advisors and contribute to the Calvert community as coaches and club advisors. They are also required to serve on school committees on occasion.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s and a background teaching Math. Prior experience teaching middle school aged students is strongly preferred. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to inspire and support students and must have excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Calvert School offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Salaries for teachers are based on years of teaching experience, education, and job-related responsibilities. The salary range for teachers is $50,000 to $70,000 and candidates with additional teaching experience and/or advanced degrees may receive a higher salary.
