Calvert @ Friends

With the weather starting the cool down, the Mighty Bees are heating up. This game saw our team face their first resistance of the year, as Friends proved to be a strong opponent. Unfortunately for them, we're a strong side as well.
Despite getting to the game late due to some bus issues, we still got off to a fast start. Just three minutes into the game, we took the lead after Walton passed the ball across the goal to Tobin, who had an easy finish. We doubled that lead in the 11th minute when Daly played a pass to Walton, who was able to put her shot past the keeper. Then, just 3 minutes later, Daly was setting up her teammates again, this time to Tobin who picked up her second of the season with a nice shot. On the defensive end, the girls were doing a great job keeping possessions and moving the ball around, although there were a few nervy moments. Athey did a great job keeping the ball out of the net though.
With a 3-0 lead at half, we wanted to pick up another goal or two in the second, but our main objective was to keep the shut out. Thanks to a combined effort in the back, we were able to do just that. Rodgers and Borg kept the middle clean while Marsiglia and Bramble snuffed out attacks along the side. Our defensive mids, including Stevens, Wilson, and Mangum also did their part. We finally got our extra insurance goal in the 39th minute, when Wilson was able to set up Walton for the final goal of the match. It was great playing a strong opponent, and we'll be ready to avenge our loss from last season against Bryn Mawr on Friday.

Goals
Tobin 3', 14' (6 on season)
Walton 11', 39' (4)
